Ayo Dosunmu – Confidence 7/10

The Illinois basketball team is true contenders for one of the top guards in the class of 2018. Ayo Dosunmu is an extremely talented player who would help any program he decides to come to.

Dosunmu is a five-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 27 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 2 combo guard in the nation. He currently has three official visits scheduled, two of which he has already attended. He took an official visit to USC back on September 15. Two weeks later he took another official visit to Wake Forest. Dosunmu also has an official visit scheduled for October 10 to Illinois.

The Illinois visit is a big one for Illini fans. This is where Brad Underwood and his coaching staff have to put on the full-court press to get Dosunmu to commit to the Illini. They have the location factor, the playing time and the team around him to succeed. There isn’t a better place for this kid.

But, Dosunmu hasn’t been overly transparent about his feels on which program he likes the best. He also has two more official visits to schedule and my guess is those will be to Xavier and Kansas, both of which are dangerous teams.

I used to be more down on Dosunmu coming to Champaign but recently my confidence has risen. At the end, Illinois will be in the top two but they still have a lot of work left to do. They need to really put on a show when he visits on the 10th.
