The Illinois basketball team hasn’t signed a single member to their class of 2018. That worries some fans but there are still some talented players who are main targets for the Illini left on the board.

Have the Illini missed on some targets? Sure, they have, but that doesn’t mean the recruiting season has been a failure or it is time to hit the big red panic button. Those were just players who would have been nice to have but they picked another program for another reason.

Illinois has had some top targets who have been in the recruiting crosshairs since the start. Those players are still on the board and they continue to cut their lists and Illinois continues to make the cuts. That means the Illini are still in the running. I think they will land a few great players here in the next 30 days as well.

There are also some players Illinois is involved with that I don’t think will come to Champaign. The reason they might not come isn’t that the program is bad, though. It is for a variety of reasons like they want to stay closer to home or they want to go to the west coast. But, I think the class of 2018 will still end up being pretty great for the Illini.

Here is my recruiting confidence for each Illini target for the class of 2018.
