Illinois Football: Top performers against Western Kentucky

The Illinois football team went into the game against Western Kentucky as a touchdown underdog. They came out with a victory, though.

Las Vegas knows what they are talking about or they wouldn’t have buildings as tall and far as the eye can see. They set lines because they have sharks who know how the public will bet. But, one thing these sharks can’t measure is heart. That is why this game against Western Kentucky went the way it did.

Illinois came out of the gates swinging and didn’t let up. Their offense struggled at times but their defense picked them up and carried this team to a nice win over the Hilltoppers. There were many players who played well too.

Del’Shawn Phillips once again led the team in tackles. He was the leading tackler in the Ball State game as well. He has been a nice addition for this Illini team from the junior college ranks. I also liked how Mike Dudek played. He was the go-to-guy for Crouch on the outside and would help move the chains when Illinois needed a first down.

But, then there were my top performers on the night. Some of these guys might not have had the best stats but they were huge in getting the win over Western Kentucky.
