No. 3 Guard/Forward

Starter: Adam Miller

The top priority for the class of 2020 is guard Adam Miller. He is a player who can score at-will and also distribute the ball with pinpoint accuracy. He is rated as a four-star guard who is the No. 18 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois. The recruitment of Miller could be a little more difficult than first thought, though. He recently decided to transfer from Manual High School in Peoria to Morgan Park High School in Chicago.

Illinois will continue to strengthen the relationship with Morgan Park. They had Ayo Dosunmu commit to the program in 2018 and he had a great two-year career with the Illini before departing for the NBA. The success of Dosunmu will help recruit Miller. He will start year one and be an instant success with the Illinois program.

Backup: Tim Finke

A player who fell in the recruiting rankings during his junior season in high school is Tim Finke. He committed to the Illinois basketball program in 2018 and continued to develop his game in the previous two seasons. His abilities are excellent at the No. 3 spot to spell minutes for Miller.

A lot of people weren’t high on Finke coming out of high school. His shooting ability did struggle at times but he improved under Underwood and is now a viable backup for the Illini. He will continue to work his way to the top and will be a contender to start his senior season in 2021.

Backup: Aaron Henry

Another solid class of 2018 commitment for the Illini was Aaron Henry. Illinois landed Henry after making his top five. They received a player who was ranked in the top 200 and had some major upside.

Henry developed into a role player the past two seasons. His game has impressed fans when he is seeing playing time between 10 and 13 minutes per game.
