When Brad Underwood was hired as the Illinois basketball coach, fans knew the future could be extremely bright.

Underwood likes to use a quick offense that shoots the ball at a high rate. The guards are important in this offense and having a solid trio to handle the ball, as well as shoot, will be key to the Illini success on the basketball court.

The guards the Illini will have entering this upcoming season will be special. We haven’t seen this much talent at the guard position in a very long time and that should bode well for this Illinois program. But, it is hard to say what the future will hold for the guard position.

Illinois will end up being in the running for many talented players over the next four years as well. This will help build the depth at the guard position that will be needed. There will be some players who will graduate and move on from the program and others will possibly go to the NBA early.

The future will still be extremely bright no matter what happens with the guard position over the next four years. Here is how Brad Underwood would want the guard position to pan out.
