Every Illinois football commit from the class of 2018 will make an impact on the team.

Illinois has nine players already signed up for 2018 and there are more to come here shortly. They just had an unofficial get-together in Champaign with some of the commitments and recruits. This was an opportunity for Lovie Smith and the coaching staff to pitch the future in the Orange and Blue.

I am excited for literally every single one of these players to suit up and become a member of the rebuilding process at Illinois. They are going to be a part of something special that fans won’t forget. This team will be a competitor again and these commits for 2018 will be the foundation for that success.

But, Illinois also has a few recruits they are going after that would start year one. These recruits are program changers immediately because of their great talents already showing at the high school level. While the foundation builders who are already committed right now will be crucial, so will the highly rated players. These players will get the program over the edge and will help win on a consistent basis.

Here are four recruits who will start year one.
