Illinois Basketball: Illini class of 2018 confidence meter
7. George Conditt (Confidence: 6 out of 10)
Getting a big-time big man like George Conditt would be huge for the Illinois basketball program. He would bring a mix of size and athletic ability to the table.
Conditt is a 6-foot-10, 200-pound power forward from Corliss High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is not ranked by Scout but is the No. 342 player according to 247Sports in the class of 2018. He is also the No. 9 player in the state of Illinois as well.
For being so low ranked, Conditt has drawn a lot of recruiting attention. He has nine scholarship offers and they are all from solid Division I programs. The most impressive offers right now are from Arizona State, Illinois, Saint Louis and Washington. This recruitment will be interesting to watch play out.
There hasn’t been a list cut down yet and most of the teams that are on the list for Conditt aren’t anywhere near where he lives. Illinois has a leg up on the competition in the location department. They also can provide playing time as well. The Illini need a solid No. 5 in 2018 and beyond. Conditt could bring that to Champaign.
Next: 3 accomplishments for Brad Underwood
I think Conditt will eventually end up with Illinois but he wants to see more scholarships come his way. He should take his time and see what the best options are for his future.
