No. 1 Jonathan Isaac – Florida State Seminoles

One of the more impressive losses for the Illinois basketball team this past season was their game against the Florida State Seminoles. They were competitive the entire game and were only down three at halftime.

Illinois got the game back to a 44-44 tie with 9:57 left in the contest but that is when the Seminoles pulled away. They took the lead and never looked back.

The Illini went up against a good Florida State team that was led by Jonathan Isaac. He was selected in the NBA Draft last night by the Orlando Magic with the No. 6 pick overall. While he is extremely thin, he should still end up being a really good NBA player.

Isaac averaged 12 points and 7.8 rebounds per game during his freshman season with the Seminoles. This also ended up being his lone season with the team as well. In the 72-61 victory over the Illini, Isaac hit those numbers as well. He ended up dropping 15 points and 7 rebounds in just 24 minutes in that game. Although, he did struggle, turning the ball over totally 4 turnovers in the game.

Illinois fought tough against Florida State, but Isaac got the best of the Illini.
