3. Terrell Perriman Top 9

Getting top playmaking wide receivers is important for the future of the Illinois football program. That is why Lovie continues to make a push for talented pass catchers around the country.

One wide receiver who cut his list recently is Terrell Perriman. He decided to make the cut to just nine programs which included Utah, West Virginia, North Carolina State, Michigan State, Georgia, LSU, UCF, Tennessee and Illinois. This is a list of some solid programs with winning traditions.

Perriman would be a great get for any of these teams. He is a 5-foot-10, 176-pound wide receiver from Miami Central High School in Miami, Florida. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 535 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 82 player in the state of Florida.

It is hard to tell where Perriman will end up playing. Some recruiting sites have the Florida teams leading for his commitment but don’t count out the Illini in this race. They have a wildcard that could prove to be crucial.

Illinois currently needs wide receiver help, like previously mentioned. They will only have six pass catchers for 2018 as of right now. That is where Lovie can offer Perriman playing time right away. That is one bonus for Illinois in this recruiting race.

Another bonus for the Illini is that Perriman is from Miami Central High School. That is the same high school as class of 2017 wide receiver commit, Carmoni Green. They could team up in Champaign and be dominant for the next three to four years. Illinois also had defensive end Owen Carney commit as well and he was from Miami Central too. The Illini have started a pipeline to that high school program and hopefully, it pays off.
