Kievan Myers (Top 15)

Building a team from the trenches out is extremely important. That means the Illini need to continue bringing in offensive linemen who could help open holes for the running backs and keep the quarterbacks off the ground.

Kievan Myers could be a great asset in accomplishing these goals. He is a 6-foot-5, 330-pound offensive tackle from Bishop Dunne High School in Dallas, Texas. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 823 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 104 player in the state of Texas.

Just yesterday, Myers decided to cut his list down to just 15 programs he will be deciding between when he wants to make a commitment. Those 15 programs are Texas Tec h, West Virginia, Colorado, UCF, Houston, Utah, Missouri, Arizona, Washington, Ohio State, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, UCLA and Illinois.

Once again, the Illini have to compete with top teams who have great winning traditions. This will be a challenge for Lovie and the coaching staff but they can pull it off. They just need to continue pitching the future and the amount of NFL coaching and playing experience on the staff.

Illinois can also offer playing time early on in Myers’ career as well. That has to be a big selling point. Lovie needs to bolster the offensive line and getting a player like Myers would help tremendously.
