Carlton Bragg

I sound like I am a broken record, right? The Carlton Bragg saga started a few years back and continues today. He is still a possibility, though.

While Bragg wouldn’t be eligible to play until 2018 per transfer rules, he still would be a nice addition to this Illinois basketball team.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports tweeted out on April 26 that Bragg is visiting Arizona State at the beginning of May and Cincinnati, Illinois and North Carolina State are all still being considered. He then updated that list yesterday.

It looks like NC State and Xavier, who wasn’t originally listed, are both out of the running for Bragg’s commitment. So, by deduction, Illinois, Arizona State and Cincinnati should be the final three teams vying for him.

I know there has been some worry about Bragg’s past. He had an issue with domestic violence that has since been resolved because of video showing the incident and the girl didn’t tell the truth and she was actually the one pushing him.

Bragg also dealt with some pot issues that I generally tend to chalk up as a young dumb kid move. These are the issues that he brings to the table and I think he is worth the risk. Illinois needs a center and I think he would fit the bill.
