No. 3 Fun-and-Gun Offense

It is well documented that Underwood’s offense is great for guards. He runs a fun-and-gun style of offense that shoots at a rapid pace. This is going to be great for the Illinois backcourt as well.

Reason No. 3 on why Moore will come to Illinois is because guards thrive in Underwood’s offense. They score at a rapid pace and they also have solid ball movement as well.

Last season for Oklahoma State, Jawun Evans was the leading scorer with 19.2 points and leading distributor with 6.4 assists per game. This is great production from the leading guard and I think that could come from one of the players on the team now or possibly Moore.

The Cowboys also had six of their seven leading scorers playing guard too. That alone has to be enticing for a player of Moore’s caliber and scoring ability.

If Moore decided to come to Illinois he would be in the offensive set that would enable him to put up points. He is also a good ball handler and Evans averaged 6.4 assists last season. That is a number that I think Moore could duplicate or even pass in 2018.

There might be other programs that have longer runs in the NCAA tournament right now, but there are few who can match the type of offense that Underwood runs.
