No. 3 Dallas Craddieth, Safety

Lovie has been known throughout his coaching career to be a defensive minded coach. He has coached some of the best defensive players in the history of the NFL.

I think we will see a jump in the Illinois defense over the next few seasons. A piece that could be added to get that puzzle completed is Dallas Craddieth.

Craddieth is a 6-foot-1, 183-pound safety out of Hazelwood Central High School in Florissant, Missouri. He is ranked as a three-star recruit who is the No. 540 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 8 player in the state of Missouri.

I would love for a player like Craddieth to come to Champaign. He has the size to be a good safety and he can see where the ball is going before it leaves the quarterback’s hands. I was also impressed with his speed and ability to catch. He was a wide receiver in high school and that helps with both of those skills.

Right now, Craddieth has 16 scholarship offers and a majority are from power five conference schools. This list does include Wisconsin, North Carolina and Ole Miss as well.

Craddieth did attend Junior Day at Illinois, so there is hope to get this kid. He has so much talent and Illinois needs more help in the secondary. He would be a big-time pickup for the Illini.
