No. 3 Ayo Dosunmu – Class of 2018

The Illinois point guard play over the next three years should be pretty solid. They have Lucas who will only be a true sophomore this upcoming season and Frazier who is coming in from the class of 2017.

But, Illinois also has another great player in Ayo Dosunmu eyeing the program for 2018 as well. He can do everything and then some on the basketball court.

Dosunmu is a five-star point guard from Chicago, Illinois. He is currently ranked as the No. 21 player in the class of 2018 and someone who is wanted by a wide variety of programs.

Right now, Dosunmu has 13 scholarship offers and they are pretty much by all elite level programs that have seen tournament success over the past decade.

One of the big problems with the previous coaching regime is that they couldn’t recruit the Chicago area very well. They had a few players come from there but one was kicked off the team and the other just wasn’t Big Ten material.

Getting Dosunmu would be huge for the Illinois basketball program. This commitment would continue to put the Illini in the middle of the recruiting world and it would also establish a presence in the Chicago area once again.

Underwood could always use more guard help. If it was needed, he could move one of the three point guards to the No. 2 spot and be dangerous as well.

If Dosunmu would commit to Illinois the possibilities of rotations would be endless. He would be a huge fish to land.
