DT Elijah Teague

Illinois suffered another blow to their defense line after their two opening day starting defensive tackles graduated after this past season. That kills the depth of the defensive line for the Illini.

But, the Illini do have two great defensive tackles to take over those spots in Jamal Milan and Kenyon Jackson. Both played a good amount of snaps last season and they both also had some starts as well.

Getting a player like defensive tackle Elijah Teague from the class of 2018 would be huge, though. He would help provide depth for the next year or so and then would transform into a starter.

Teague is a three-star recruit who isn’t ranked among Scout just yet, but he clearly has some serious talent.

Right now, Teague has a good amount of scholarship offers from some big-time programs. Besides for an Illinois offer, Teague also has offers from schools like Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Louisville. He is going to be a tough get for the Illini.

While I don’t think Teague would see starts early on in his career he still would be a key piece. He would come in and spell some minutes for Milan and Jackson. That is something the Illini will need in 2018.
