The class of 2015 was filled with so much talent and potential that Illini fans can’t wait to see progress.

The best player in this class was Jalen Coleman-Lands.

JCL was a 4-star recruit who was ranked as the No. 42 recruit in the class of 2015.

There is no doubt that JCL is the best player in this class.  He proved last season he can shoot from anywhere on the court.

I wouldn’t doubt that JCL becomes the best shooter in Illinois basketball history when his career is finished with the Illini.

The other two in this class, Aaron Jordan and DJ Williams, are completely unproven right now.

Williams clearly has a lot of upside to his game.  He showed flashes last season of potential All-Big Ten talent.

But, there are also times with Williams that make you scratch your head and wonder what he was thinking.

I think Williams is going to turn out to be a great player with the Illini.  He has the talent and upside to be dominant.

Jordan is the same way as Williams.  He could knock down some great shots last year but he was still young and he needed some work.

The class of 2015 came in at No. 6 because they still have to all prove that they belong but only time will tell.
