Illinois Basketball: Ranking the Illini Recruiting Classes for the Last Decade
The decision between the class of 2010 and 2017 was tough. Either one of these classes could have held the No.1 spot.
I selected the class of 2017 as the No. 1 group of players in the last ten years because they have the expectations but haven’t failed to meet them.
The class of 2017 is also going to grow here shortly as well. Right now they have three players signed up but I wouldn’t doubt that number grows to 4 or 5 by the time it is all said and done.

Javon Pickett is the only 3-star recruit in this bunch. He can shoot from anywhere on the basketball court and will be a nice piece off the bench.
Da’Monte Williams is a nice combo guard that is coming in as well. He is a 4-star recruit who should be in the top 100 but due to injuries, he dropped out.
I expect Williams to see some serious playing time in 2017.
The prized recruit out of the three that are committed is Jeremiah Tilmon.
Tilmon is a 5-star center who is ranked as the No. 19 player in the class of 2017. He is going to be special and possibly the player who can help get the Illini back to the promise land.
I think this class is already the top group of players that Illinois has brought in over the last decade. I can’t even image how good they would be if they added one or two more players.

There is no doubt in my mind the best recruiting class in the last decade goes to the class of 2017.
