Illinois Football: Illini Recruiting Breakdown for 2017

I am amazed by the potential firepower that Illinois could be bringing into the program for 2017.

One of the players that the Illini are targeting is Cartrell Thomas.

Thomas is a 3-star wide receiver who is ranked as the No. 833 player in the class of 2017 and the No. 110 player in the state of Texas.

Just this past week, Thomas cut his list down to just six programs.

The six programs that Thomas kept on his list are Texas Tech, Colorado, Texas State, Utah, Boise State, and Illinois.

Thomas is a speedster that will benefit any team that picks him up.  Right now, I think Texas Tech probably has the lead but that is still yet to be determined.

I don’t believe Thomas has any visits set up and his recruitment is wide open for Lovie and the Illini to swoop in.

Getting Thomas would not only boost the offensive side of the ball, but he would bring speed to an Illinois team that has lacked it over the years.
