Over the last five years, I have heard fans of the Indiana Hoosiers calling for the head of coach Tom Crean. They want him gone, but for some unknown reason.
Crean checks in at No. 3 on this list and as an Illinois fan it pains me to have him this high.
The Hoosiers were a terrible team once the whole Kelvin Sampson issue went down. The savior to this whole mess was Crean.
Indiana started the Crean era off with a bunch of walk-on players and they managed to pull off six wins.
In just four seasons, Crean managed to get this team back to 27 wins and made it to the Sweet 16. This was an impressive feat.
The success continued for Crean and he has now made the postseason in two out of the last three seasons. This also includes a Sweet 16 berth as well.
Crean has done a great job at getting this Indiana team back on track and a lot has to do with his recruiting ability.
Back when Indiana was awful they were starting to get good recruiting classes. I always told the Hoosiers fans that they will be good again just give it time.
Well, those recruits matured and just like that they were making postseasons again.
In the last three recruiting classes, Indiana has an average class ranking of 18th in the nation. This includes a class that ranked 4th as well.
Crean is a great coach that should be with the Hoosiers for a long time. He won the Big Ten regular season last year and will probably be pretty solid again this season.
