DJ Williams

The basketball player that we see today with DJ Williams is not what we are going to see when he is done with school.

Williams is a super raw but talented player right now.  His ceiling right now is extremely high and I think he will have a chance to reach that ceiling with the Illini.

Last season Williams averaged 11 minutes per game.  In the minutes, he received he put up an average of 2.1 points per game and grabbed 1.4 rebounds per game.

More from Writing Illini

I see Williams’ production increasing greatly this upcoming season and into the future.

Best Case

The best case for Williams is that he continues to keep improving and gets a solid outside jump shot.  He needs to get better at outside shooting to have any shot at the NBA.

If Williams does improve on the outside shot, then I see him being a late 1st round draft pick around 2019.

Worst Case

Williams is way too athletic and has way too much talent to not do something in basketball after college.  I do see him pursuing a basketball career overseas.  There are many former Illini players that have gone the same route.
