Big Ten Football Coach Rankings
Arguably the best team in the last five years of college football has been the Ohio State Buckeyes. They are great at every position and have one of the best head coaches in the game.
Urban Meyer took over this great program back in 2012. The Buckeyes were coming off a 6-7 record that was one of the worst in program history.

The first season under Meyer was great, but they weren’t allowed to play in a bowl game because of Jim Tressel. Despite the lack of bowl game, the Buckeyes still finished with a 12-0 record.
The following year, Ohio State made the Orange Bowl and finished the year with a 12-2 record. The winning continued into 2014.
Meyer and the Buckeyes won the National Championship in the first every College Football Playoff. They were great that season and a lot of it had to do with Meyer’s abilities.
Last season, the Buckeyes finished 12-1 and the only loss came to Michigan State on a last-second field goal. I thought they were the best team in the Big Ten and got scammed out of a College Football Playoff berth.
I don’t think there is much question that Meyer is the best coach in the Big Ten right now.
Meyer’s recruiting has also been on point. In the last three recruiting classes, Meyer has averaged being ranked as the 5th best recruiting class in that span.
The Buckeyes keep bringing in the best talent in the nation and just had one of the best quarterbacks commit this past week.

For right now, Meyer lands at the No. 1 spot on the head coaches list, but that can always change with time.
