The class of 2018 is going to be interesting.  The Illinois basketball team only has four scholarships available for 2018 right now.

If Illinois fills all of those scholarships with 2017 players then there will be zero left for the class of 2018.

I have all four scholarships being filled by the class of 2017 players.  But, with how good the team will be in 2017, I expect there to be at least one opening for the class of 2018.

That means a player leaves the team for the NBA.  I can’t project who that would be just yet, but I would assume it would be Tilmon.

So, that would leave one scholarship open and on my wish list I would want forward Tim Finke.

Finke is the brother of current Illinois forward, Michael Finke.

Finke is a great shooter that has the ability to put up some serious points in games.  I try to think of a comparison for these players but this one is tough.

The comparison I keep coming up with is James Harden.

Finke is slightly taller and more slender than Harden, but both have similar games.  Both players have hops and can get to the rim.

I love the shooting ability by Finke, not just from the three-point line, though.  He can knock down the mid-range jumper.

The big difference between Harden and Finke is that Finke is a good ball distributor.  He has the vision that could be dangerous at the college level.

Finke is on my wish list, but someone would have to leave the program for it to happen.  This would be a good problem to have for the Illini.
