Carte’Are Gordon

A name that has been floated around the class of 2018 is center Carte’Are Gordon.

Gordon is ranked as the 5th best center in the class of 2018 and for a good reason.  He is a big, athletic, center standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 235-pounds.

The recruitment of Gordon is a little slow right now.  He has seven scholarship offers and Illinois is projected as the leader up to this point.

If Gordon does come into the Illinois program, it would benefit the team greatly.  Although, I do think he would have some troubles with Big Ten centers.

Gordon is fairly athletic.  His body and athleticism reminds me a lot of Draymond Green.  But I am worried about his rebounding ability and wingspan at the college level.

I think it is possible for Gordon to be a really good player at Illinois, but he may have to move over to forward.

Gordon would be a nice combination with Illini hopeful Jeremiah Tilmon in 2018.  This would be the best front court in college basketball.
