Alonzo Verge (Meanstreets)

The Illinois basketball team needs point guard depth for the future and that is exactly what Alonzo Verge would bring to Champaign.

Verge is a pretty good point guard that would be a great addition to the Illini.

In game one for Verge, the Meanstreets were beaten by Nike South Beach, 83-74.  Verge played 22 minutes in this game and did pretty well.

More from Writing Illini

Verge dropped 13 points on 55-percent shooting from the field in game one.  He also added 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.

In game two, Verge only played 4 minutes and scored 0 points in an 82-62 loss to CIA Bounce.  He would increase his minutes in the next two games.

The Meanstreets broke the two-game losing streak in game three with a win over Pro Skills, 62-57.

Verge played 14 minutes in this game and scored 5 points.  He would also add in 3 rebounds and 3 assists to the stat sheet.

The final game for Verge was up there with the best of his EYBL season.  He dropped 13 points in 22 minutes of play.  He would also add in 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Verge didn’t have a great session three, but he is productive in many ways.  He can do a little bit of everything and that is a great asset.
