McKinley Wright (D1 Minnesota)

A big part of the recruitment of forward Theo John is recruiting his high school teammate McKinley Wright.

Wright is a point guard that has the skills to be a DI player.  He has been on the radar for the Illini over the last few years and now his recruitment is really heating up.

Illinois is in need of point guard depth and Wright could be the answer to those problems.  He plays for the AAU team D1 Minnesota.

Hopefully, Wright shows the Illini that he is DI material and wants to play in Champaign.

Jericho Sims (D1 Minnesota)

A teammate on Wright’s AAU team is Jericho Sims.  Sims isn’t highly recruited and is actually a 2-star by many recruiting outlets.

Illinois offered him a scholarship not too long ago and he would be an interesting addition to the squad.

I don’t see a ton of playing time for Sims in the near future but he is nice to add for depth.  Right now for the Illini the more players the merrier.
