Illinois Basketball: Needs and Wants for the Class of 2017
SG Jordan Goodwin
Next: Need No. 4
I know Illinois is set at shooting guard. They have Jalen Coleman-Lands who is arguably the best shooter in the Big Ten. They also have Aaron Jordan who has a great deal of potential just waiting to be released.
Illinois Fighting Illini
But when you come across a player that is can’t miss you have to add him if you can. This is the conclusion I have come to on guard Jordan Goodwin.
Goodwin is a superstar in the making. When he is playing well he can flirt with a triple double. Even when he isn’t shooting well he still gets his teammates involved in the game.
Most superstars are just about scoring but Goodwin is the complete package. That is why Goodwin is a need.
Right now Goodwin has a decent amount of schools after him and his popularity is growing by the day.
Recently I heard that Northwestern is growing in potential to nab Goodwin but much like Tilmon, I think Goodwin is leaning towards Illinois.
Goodwin is in a situation where he is going to continue to get more scholarships as time goes on. He is dominating in the Nike EYBL right now and that is going to get him more notoriety.
This is another player that Groce needs to close on or he will miss out on a big time player.
