Illinois Basketball: Needs and Wants for the Class of 2017

The Illinois basketball team has some serious needs and wants for the class of 2017.

Next: Need No. 1

This class in particular has been the main focus of current head coach John Groce.  He has planned for 2017 to be one of the best recruiting classes in program history.

Well it has started off pretty well with 4-star combo guard Da’Monte Williams and 3-star shooting guard Javon Pickett already signed up for next season.

There is still a lot of work left to do to make this a respectable class, let alone the best in the history of the Illinois basketball program.

The number of names that are being passed around is astounding right now.  There are a few handfuls of players that really would make a big impact on the Illini moving forward.

Since there are so many names getting mentioned, I wanted to sort them out based on need and want.

Now don’t get me wrong, I would love all of these players to come to Illinois.  But they all can’t and I am just basing this list off players that would fill some gaps immediately.
