Illinois Football: Projected Offensive Depth Chart
RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn
Next: TE Tyler White
Last season we saw running back Josh Ferguson receive most of the workload early on in the year. But due to injuries and great play, backup running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn started to get a lot of work.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Vaughn was a highly touted running back out of Tennessee. Illinois did a great job pulling him away from some top schools like Notre Dame and West Virginia.
I always felt like Vaughn was going to end up being a special player but I didn’t think it would happen this soon.
Vaughn racked up a total of 723 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground last season. He also added in another 119 yards receiving as well.
This season Vaughn steps in the same starting role he finished with last season. He has the starting nod and probably isn’t going to be challenged barring injury.
With a pretty experienced offensive line returning, I expect to see Vaughn increase his production from last season.
I can see Vaughn hitting the 1,000 yards rushing mark and adding another 10 touchdowns. He should be used a decent amount around the goal line as well.
