QB Chayce Crouch

Crouch is a sophomore this season after a redshirt freshman campaign that saw very little playing time besides in times we were getting blow out or the opposite.  I expect to see Crouch compete for the starting job next season.

RB Dre Brown

Brown was a redshirt freshman last season because of an injury suffered in spring practice.  He is going make an impact in 2016 as the backup to Vaughn.

TE Andrew Davis

Davis played very little last season but this season could be slightly different.  I see him getting more action but still clearly a No. 2 behind White.

WR Sam Mays

Mays had a solid freshman campaign.   He caught seven passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.  Mays should see a good deal of passes this season and become an important player.

WR Dionte Taylor

Taylor is coming off a pretty good junior campaign.  He had 22 receptions for 216 yards.  I expect him to continue to be a solid option as the backup slot man.

WR Zach Grant

Grant transferred into Illinois a few years ago and saw little playing time last season.  Grant caught one pass for seven yards last year.  He won’t see a ton this year but could be key in certain situations.

LT Jordan Fagan

Fagan is entering his junior year as a transfer from a JUCO school.  He was a 3-star in the recruiting ranks and should be a great backup if something happens to Schmidt or another starter.

LG Zach Heath

Another JUCO transfer is Zach Heath.  Heath is an experienced guard and should be a decent backup to Megginson.  I look for him to spell some minutes when need be.

C Zeke Martin

The center position needs a backup this year and that man is Zeke Martin.  Martin was a 3-star recruiting coming out of high school and now will be important for the depth of the offensive line.

RG Connor Brennan

Brennan is a solid right guard but I don’t think he beats out Megginson or Allegretti for the two open spots this season.  Brennan is good to have as an experienced senior backup though.

RT Adam Solomon

A redshirt freshman that has some true potential in the future is Adam Solomon.  He is going to be a backup this season but in the future our offense will rely on his services.
