Tracy Abrams
Next: Kendrick Nunn
The legacy of Tracy Abrams is extremely complicated. He came to Illinois from the class of 2011 and was playing well up until about two seasons ago.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Abrams went down with a torn ACL two years ago and this past year he fell to a torn Achilles tendon. He has missed the last two seasons and is heading into what would be his final year if he gets the medical hardship waiver.
I believe a college athlete is only allowed to have six years in colligate sports so even if does get the waiver it will be his final season.
I think Abrams is likely to be back next season. He went down before the season even started and he hasn’t played a game in two years.
There is no reason that Abrams should be denied a medical hardship waiver.
If he is granted the wavier it would be pretty big for the Illini.
Illinois is adding point guard Te’Jon Lucas to the mix next season. If you then add in Abrams, that makes for a dangerous backcourt. This is something we haven’t had in a while.
I hope Abrams can get this waiver, not for fan purposes, but for him to be able to do what he loves for one last season.
