The Illinois basketball team is coming off a bad season but many factors attributed to the decaying program.

There were off court issues and a few injuries John Groce and the team had to put up with throughout the 2015-16 campaign.
With all of that going on it makes the future uncertain for a few members of the Illinois basketball team.
Jeremy Werner of Scout took to Twitter to share some news he was told by the Illinois compliance people.
On the medical redshirt front, #Illini compliance told me "the plan is to have certainty about the basketball roster" by end of school year.

Let’s take a look at this news in a few ways. I am glad this news came out because we never really had a timetable on when we would find out if some key players were returning.
There are five players on this past season’s roster that have a status that is up in the air. We need to find out if they are coming back or if they are not going to be with the program next season.
Some of these players are dealing with legal troubles and some are dealing with injuries in what was supposed to be their final season.
Regardless of the reason, we at least have some type of timetable for some of their returns or departures.
