The Illinois basketball fans have pretty much put the 2015-16 season to bed and are now looking to the future.

Next: Point Guard Position

Usually the future is bright for most teams and gives their fans a sense of hope that things will turn around.  From what I have read and heard, I don’t think some Illinois fans feel that way.

I think the future is still bright with the Illinois basketball team despite who I think should or should not be the future head coach.

Do I think the Illini will thrive more with a different person at the helm, sure, but I digress.

The 2016-17 season is going to be better than what we are seeing right now purely based on less attrition.  Illinois will be a healthier team next season and that automatically improves the team.

In addition to the improved health, there will be at least one new addition to the team as well.

Te’Jon Lucas is currently the only member of the class of 2016, but he is a crucial piece because of his talents at the position he plays.

Lucas did recently go down with a fracture in his right ankle and foot, but despite the injury he should be ready to go by the start of the summer.

With the addition of Lucas, and the middle of the season entry of Kipper Nichols, I wanted to see what we had to look at for next season.
