Purdue Boilermakers

Key Losses:

Akeem Hunt (Leading Rusher, 2nd in receiving yards)

Rasheem Mostert (2nd in rushing yards)

Landon Feichter (Led defense in tackles and interceptions)

Ryan Russell (7th in tackles, 2nd in sacks)

The Purdue Boilermakers were 3-9 this past season with only one Big Ten victory that was actually against Illinois.

Purdue will be more improved from last season but they are still going to struggle in 2015.  I like their quarterback Austin Appleby because he can really throw the ball while moving around in the pocket.

Purdue will start the season off 3-1 but will come back down to Earth pretty hard.  I see the Boilermakers duplicating what they did in 2014 as they only will get one win on the season.  I have them beating Indiana the final game.

The true test on who is better will be on November 7th when they play Illinois in West Lafayette.  I like the Illini in this one because Wes Lunt is going to have one of the best seasons in Illinois history.

Lunt will throw for roughly 305 yards and add an additional 3 touchdowns.  Look for running back Josh Ferguson to really dominate as well.  Ferguson had 139 all-purpose yards and 1 touchdown in 2014 against Purdue.  I look for him to have roughly 80 yards rushing along with a touchdown.  He will also add in another 80 yards receiving and a touchdown.

This game could get out of hand.  I have Illinois winning the game 42-21.

Next: Northwestern Wildcats
