Kahlil McKenzie — Defensive Tackle — 4-Star — 6’4″/309 — Concord, CA (De La Salle)

There’s no doubt that the Illinois defense didn’t look very well at all last season, especially during conference play.

One area on the defensive side of the ball where the Illini lacked the most was stopping the running backs of the Big Ten. How do you fix that problem? Size on the defensive line, and Kahlil McKenzie would fit the need nicely.

McKenzie is a massive defensive tackle that has offers ranging from Miami (FL) to Tennessee.

Kahlil McKenzie is a big, strong defensive tackle who knows how to get into an opponent’s backfield. He can stop the run and even get after opposing quarterbacks as well.

Due to the lack of success defensively, McKenzie should be at the top of the Illini 2015 wishlist. However, it’s going to be a long way to the top if the Illini want a verbal from the De La Salle DT.
