The NFL Draft is approaching and that means there is a chance for some Illinois football players to either be selected or signed as a priority free agent.

Dre Brown is one of the former Illini players who have their names in the hat. He was a solid running back during his time with Illinois. It would have been an even greater run had he not dealt with multiple injuries to start his career in Champaign.

Brown finished his senior season with 584 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground. This equates to a 5.2 yards per carry average, which is pretty good. He also had 10 catches for 82 yards. The development in the receiving game makes him an even more enticing draft prospect.

The NFL has Brown as the highest-graded Illinois talent coming into the draft. They have him with a grade of 5.64, which means he is somewhere between “Chance to make end of roster or practice squad” and “Backup/special-teamer”.

I think there is a lot to love about Brown’s game. He has proved he could stay healthy for the last three seasons with the Illini. Brown is more of a stereotypical running back, but he was starting to come into his own with the receiving game as a senior. The potential is there to be a solid backup in the first three years of his career. But what teams are best suited for Brown?

Here are three NFL teams who need Dre Brown the most.
