The Illinois basketball team needs to build a great class of 2019 to keep the recruiting momentum rolling.

For this class, the Illini currently have three scholarships available. These three scholarships need to go to players who will help this team immediately. There are enough talented players that have ties to the state of Illinois where the Illini should be able to get them to come to Champaign to play their college basketball.

Illinois is going to need to replace two big players from the roster after this season. Aaron Jordan will be departing. He is going to be a productive guard for the Illini, and someone will need to make up for his point production loss.

The Illini will also be losing incoming transfer Adonis De La Rosa as well. He will play one year but then Brad Underwood will have to replace him. That is why getting a solid class of 2019 is so important. There are a handful of top targets that the Illini need to pluck at least two top 100 players from. These players will continue building the program and form Illinois back into a perennial NCAA tournament team.

Illinois needs to land at least two of the five players on this list.
