4. Eian Pugh

Pugh is a 6-foot-4, 170-pound wide receiver from Oak Park, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 667 player in the class of 2022. As of right now, Pugh is committed to Cincinnati, but he is still willing to take his official visits.

It does seem that Pugh is pretty committed to the Bearcats, but that commitment came when Illinois had just hired Bret Bielema. Since then, the Illini coaching staff has been recruiting the talented pass catcher. Illinois gets the first official visit for Pugh this weekend. He then heads to Cincinnati on June 18. Iowa is the last scheduled stop right now on June 25. I feel like there is an opening with Pugh. This is a different Illinois staff that wants this kid. This weekend is going to be extremely important as we try to flip one of the best in-state players.

5. Jared Badie

Badie is a 6-foot-5, 212-pound linebacker from Oswego, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 687 player in the class of 2022. The offers have really started to fly in for Badie, but it looks like he is down to just a few schools.

There are four official visits scheduled for Badie as of right now. Illinois gets the first crack this weekend at the talented linebacker. Minnesota is next on the list on June 11. Texas Tech follows the Gophers on June 18. And the last scheduled visit as of right now is Michigan State on June 25. This is an in-state battle I believe Illinois can win. If we want to win the state of Illinois, Badie would be a good starting point.

6. Aidan Laughery

Laughery is a 5-foot-11, 188-pound athlete from Gibson City, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 826 player in the class of 2022.

Only three official visits have been set for Laughery. Illinois is this weekend. He follows that up with a visit to Washington State on June 18. Iowa is the last scheduled visit so far on June 25. I love the way Laughery is built. He is very much like a Christian McCaffery type of player. I really like Illinois’ chances in the race for this talented athlete. He would fit perfectly with what Bielema wants to do on the football field.
