No.1 Guard – Trent Frazier

Trent Frazier makes the All-Decade Team for the Fighting Illini as the backup No. 1 guard as he has played two and a half seasons for the Orange and Blue during the 2010s. He has also steadily improved on his game while with Illinois

Frazier’s freshman averages consisted of 12.5 points and 3.1 assists on 40-percent shooting from the field. His impact on the team has been huge, as when he came into Champaign he wasn’t expected to be this good of a player.

When Frazier came into the program, he took over while other incoming freshmen weren’t living up to their hype. He emerged as the second-best player on the team and was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.

Brad Underwood and the coaching staff knew Frazier was going to be a building block for Illinois’ future after his freshman season, as he was one of the only bright spots during the 2017-18 season.

Frazier’s sophomore season was about the same as his freshman campaign. He averaged 13.7 points and 2.7 assists while shot 40-percent from three-point range and 41-percent from the field. His junior season hasn’t been his best on the offensive end, though. Frazier’s numbers have dropped to 9.4 points and 2.1 assists per game, but his perimeter defense has been the best on the team. He is giving full effort on the defensive end every game.

Frazier hasn’t made a tournament yet, but that all could change by the end of this season. He could help lead Illinois to their first march madness appearance since 2013
