The bottom of the Big Ten hasn’t changed much over the last few years.  The team we all recognize as the worst team in the conference is the Purdue Boilermakers.

Purdue hasn’t been good in a long time and one of the main reasons is because their head coach Darrell Hazell just isn’t good at his job.

It is still shocking to me that Hazell has a job considering he has only accumulated a total of six wins in the three seasons he has coached the team.

That is an average of two wins per year for those of you counting at home.

This past season was absolutely ugly for the Boilermakers.  They finished the season with a 2-10 record with one win coming against Nebraska and the other against in-state rival, Indiana State.

On top of the losing that Hazell has instilled with the Purdue program, he also hasn’t recruited well either.

Looking at the past three recruiting classes for Hazell, he has averaged pulling in a class ranked 72nd in the nation.  That is not good at all.

I also don’t really need to mention this, but for good measure, Hazell also hasn’t sniffed a bowl game in his three-year run with Purdue.

It is shocking that Hazell is still with the Boilermakers, but what isn’t surprising is that he is the No. 14 coach on this list.
