First Team All-American

The Illinois football and basketball teams both have some great players.  Despite not having great teams over the last few years, they still have some top talent.

In basketball, I see Illinois potentially producing a few First Team All-American players in the next three years.

Malcolm Hill is entering his senior campaign in 2016 and I fully expect him to be one of the best players in the Big Ten and possibly the entire country.

More from Writing Illini

Hill has been a dominant player over the last two seasons.  He now has a chance to impress people on a national level.

I could also see Jalen Coleman-Lands ending up on the First Team All-American list eventually.  He has the shooting ability that hasn’t been seen at Illinois.  I look forward to continuing watching him in the future.

The football team also has a few players that have the potential to be First Team All-American candidates.

This season, quarterback Wes Lunt is poised to have a great year.  He is a senior and has great chemistry with his wide receivers.

If Illinois can shock the world and get to eight or nine wins this season then I could see him getting consideration.

Illinois also have some great wide receivers and defensive linemen that might have a chance at the honor of First Team All-American.

The Illini have great players and I think they can accomplish this goal.
