Smith is from Grand Rapids, Michigan, but played for East Mississippi State Community College this season. At wide receiver, he recorded 733 yards on 51 receptions and scored nine touchdowns. In his last game against Northwest Mississippi, he caught 10 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns.

The four-star recruit is ranked 2nd in the state of Mississippi, 3rd among wide receivers, and 9th overall among junior college recruits by 247Sports. Smith has great hands, can run routes well, and can make catches in traffic.

According to ESPN, Smith is “a crafty route runner with quick hands, quick feet and good, sneaky speed to threaten the deep field.”

Corey Smith currently has three years or two seasons of eligibility left. This means that he still has a redshirt year available.

The Bulldogs now have 21 commitments from the class of 2013.
