The Illinois basketball team has had some great players come through the program.

These great players have wowed the Illini faithful for decades. Some have advanced the team to the NCAA tournament and then to the championship game. Others have gone on to have successful NBA careers or played in professional leagues overseas.

The players from these eras all had special talents and with the news about 3-on-3 basketball, it would be fun to see what the best teams would look like from the history of the Illinois basketball program.

Just three days ago, the Olympics announced they will now hold a 3-on-3 tournament. This will start in 2020 and the possibility on who will participate is fun to think about. There are some great NBA players that might have an opportunity to play. There could be some former NCAA greats who could get into it as well.

But, all of this 3-on-3 tournament talk got me to think about who the best teams would be in each era of Illinois basketball. Some eras have more than one team as well. These teams would be extremely competitive.

Here are the best 3-on-3 teams from the history of the Illinois basketball program.
