The Illinois basketball team is in the running for two great players in the transfer market.

These two players—Akoy Agau and Mark Alstork—are crucial to the future of the program. This weekend is extremely important as they visit the campus, and Brad Underwood sells them on the idea of winning in Champaign.

Illinois will have nice depth if these two commit to the program for next season. Here is what the roster would look like for the Illini.

No. 1 Guard

Starter: Te’Jon Lucas

Te’Jon Lucas had a solid season as a true freshman last year. Despite being stifled by a coaching staff that is no longer with the program, he still managed to average 4.8 points and 3.1 assists per game.

Lucas was impressive last season with his dishing abilities. While he can score when he wants to, his passing was fun to watch. He has handles that are rare to find, and that is why he should be the No. 1 point guard on this team.

Based on experience, Lucas will likely start the season as the No. 1 point guard. He has more knowledge of the college game than the other incoming freshman duo of Trent Frazier and Mark Smith.

Backup: Trent Frazier

Coming into the Illinois program, Trent Frazier is being looked at as a great scorer who will give the Illini a nice burst. He is one of the best snags by former head coach John Groce during his time in Champaign.

Seeing what Frazier did in high school is extremely impressive. His ability to distribute the ball was amazing, but his scoring is what really set him apart in the class of 2017. He will continue to develop and be one of the best on this Illini team for years to come.
