The Illinois basketball team needs to find the answer on who will be the center for the future.

This question has been mulled over for a while now since the decommitment of top 50 recruit, Jeremiah Tilmon. That was a bad day for Illinois basketball fans, but hopefully, things are going to start to get better.

Mark Smith committed and I am still on a high from that. He is a top 100 point guard that will help solidify the backcourt along with Te’Jon Lucas and incoming freshman Trent Frazier. These three will be special to watch no matter who plays in the paint.

But, it is still stuck there in the back of my mind like a bad song from the 90’s. Who is going to be starting at the No. 5 spot for the Illini next season and into the future?

I have three options that I think are the only three possibilities. These three I would all be happy with because they all have their pros and they all have their cons. Some pros are higher and some cons are lower, but I would take all three options in a heartbeat.

Here are the three options for the Illini at center for the future.
