Lovie Smith and the Illinois football team has been hot on the recruiting trail this past week.

The Illinois Fighting Illini needed some time off to regroup after two losses in a row and Lovie needed some time to see recruits that he wants on the team in the future.

Here are some of the recent offers by Lovie and his staff.

4*. Shelton is a 5-foot-11, 205-pound, outside linebacker out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attends the prestigious football program St. Thomas Aquinas.
According to 247Sports, Shelton is a 4-star OLB who is ranked as the No. 260 best player in the class of 2018 and the No. 40 player in the state of Florida.. OLB. Fort Lauderdale, FL. ROCKY SHELTON

CB. Fort Lauderdale, FL. AL BLADES JR.. 4*. Blades is a 6-foot, 170-pound, shut-down cornerback from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attends St. Thomas Aquinas High School with Rocky Shelton.
According to 247Sports, Blades is a 4-star prospect who is ranked as the No. 52 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 11 player in the state of Florida.
OLB. Fort Lauderdale, FL. ANTHONY SOLOMON. NR. Another St. Thomas Aquinas offer for Lovie Smith and the Illinois football program is Anthony Solomon. He is a 6-foot, 190-pound, outside linebacker out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to 247Sports, Solomon is not ranked yet but looking at his offers I assume he will be a top 100 player and a 4-star prospect in the class of 2019.
Fort Lauderdale, FL. JADEN DAVIS. NR. Lovie keeps adding offers for St. Thomas Aquinas as Jaden Davis is the next in line. He is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound, cornerback out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to 247Sports, Davis is also not ranked yet because he is in the class of 2019. He doesn’t have a ton of big-time attention yet so I would guess he is ranked roughly 500-800 in the nation and a high 3-star.
. CB

NR. Moorer is a 5-foot-5, 130-pound wide receiver. He currently attends Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, George.
According to 247Sports, Moorer isn’t ranked yet because he is in the class of 2020. That gives him some time to grow and it is good that Illinois is getting out ahead of everyone on his recruitment.
. WR. Suwanee, GA. DONNOVAN MOORER

4*. Illinois dips back into the St. Thomas Aquinas pool with the offer to Elijah Moore. He is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound, wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to 247Sports, Moore is a 4-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 122 best player in the class of 2018 and the No. 27 player in the state of Florida.
. WR. Fort Lauderdale, FL. ELIJAH MOORE

NR. Marcus Dumervil is the next St. Thomas Aquinas player to get an offer from Illinois. He is a 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive tackle from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to 247Sports, Dumervil is yet to be ranked because he is in the class of 2020. But, he is already that big and is just a freshman in high school. I assume his stock will continue to rise.
. OT. Fort Lauderdale, FL. MARCUS DUMERVIL

3*. Mbanasor is a 6-foot-3, 250-pound, strong-side defensive end from Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, Texas.
According to 247Sports, Mbanasor is a 3-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 980 player in the class of 2017 and the No. 129 player in the state of Texas. He is currently an Oklahoma State commit, but National Signing Day is a long ways away.
. DE. Pflugerville, TX. NELSON MBANASOR

NR. Dumervil Jean is a 6-foot-5, 340-pound, offensive and defensive tackle who attends St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to 247Sports, Dumevil Jean is not ranked but he does have a few solid offers. I am thinking he is probably a 3-star player for the class of 2018 who is somewhere in the ballpark of 800-1,000 nationally.
. OT. Fort Lauderdale, FL. DEJMI DUMERVIL JEAN

4*. Illinois continued to hit the St. Thomas Aquinas team hard with an offer to Nik Bonitto. He is a 6-foot-3.5, 210-pound, weak-side defensive end out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to 247Sports, Bonitto is a 4-star recruit who is the No. 76 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 14 player in the state of Florida.
. DE. Fort Lauderdale, FL. NIK BONITTO

Fort Lauderdale, FL. DANIEL CARTER. NR. Daniel Carter is the next St. Thomas Aquinas player to get an offer from Illinois. He is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound, running back from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to 247Sports, Carter is not ranked in the class of 2019, but that is because it is too early. He has some massive offers so I assume he is probably a 4-star and one of the top running backs in the class.
. RB

NR. Jason Harris is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound, strong-side defensive end from Desert Ridge High School in Mesa, Arizona.
According to Rivals, Harris is not yet ranked for the class of 2020. He does currently have offers from three big-time programs and he is a physically big player. I have to assume he is a high 3-star prospect.
. DE. Mesa, AZ. JASON HARRIS

The Illini really cast a wide net over some talented players. Hopefully, Lovie and his staff can reel in some of these great players to improve the team in the future.
