The Illinois basketball team has been the talk of the recruiting world for a while now.

Big time recruits have entertained the option of coming to Champaign and winning the Big Ten, but many have decided to pursue basketball in other places.

But, there is a possibility of Illinois snagging some highly talented players once again in 2017.

The class of 2017 is supposed to be one of the best we have seen since Dee Brown and company came in from the class of 2002.

I know some Illinois fans are skeptical about whether or not John Groce can pull in 5-star or high 4-star recruits.

The skepticism towards Groce is understandable.  I have had a lot of those feelings myself.

But, I think this class if for real.  I think we are going to snag a 5-star center and some other extremely talented players that will make the Illini a perennial postseason team once again.

The possibility of Illinois being a big time program again is getting me excited for what is to come.  When these big time players commit to the program, there will be celebrations everywhere.

Okay, maybe not everywhere, but all Illinois fans will be going wild.

Here is what the lineup would look like for the 2017-18 season if the projected recruits come to Champaign.
