Illinois Football: 6 Recruits the Illini Must Get for 2017

The Illinois football team finished their class of 2016 strong given the circumstances and the little time the staff had to hit the recruiting trails.

I am excited to see how these young players turn out for the class of 2016.  National Signing Day is now over though so it is time to start focusing on the future and what Cubit and the staff can put together.

Should we check out 2017?

I have heard 2017 is a big recruiting year for the Illinois basketball team but I also think it is just as big for the football team as well.

The state of Illinois is chalk full of some talented prospects that would be great to have on the team.  There are even some highly rated players that are looking at Illinois right now.

It has been a long time since Illinois has actually been the dominate school to recruit their home state.  There have also been a few top prospects in the state that have been poached for the class of 2017 already.

Even though 2 of the top 5 recruits in the state are already committed to other programs, there are still some talented players that are looking to commit.
