This past Friday, Illinois football had two special guests come to visit campus and watch the team practice. These guests where 2016 in-state recruits Julian Love and Brandon Wildman.
Love is an athlete (RB/CB) from Nazareth Academy and Wildman is a pro-style quarterback from Monticello High School.
Right now, Julian Love has the sole offer among the two from the Orange & Blue.
However, according to Rivals, Love is receiving interest from teams such as: Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Penn State.
Wildman is receiving interest from teams such as: Indiana, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, and Miami (OH).
According to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, Julian Love had this to say about the Fighting Illini as a team:
“I really like the advancements they’re making in all areas. They seem young, fast, and they have a lot more depth.”
Because of that young depth, it will be interesting to see how Tim Beckman and company decide to recruit Love to Illinois.
Illinois’ secondary is full of young talent, and there will be a big hole to fill at the running back position coming into the 2016 season.
As for Wildman, he would fit very nicely in the Bill Cubit system. However, it all depends on if Illinois decides whether or not to extend him an offer.
