Illinois Fighting Illini Basketball: 2014-15 Non-Conference Schedule Released

Over the weekend, the Illinois Fighting Illini basketball team announced their non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2014-15 season.

After an exhibition against Quincy on November 7th, the Fighting Illini will start the regular season with four home games against Georgia Southern (Nov. 14th), Coppin State (Nov. 16th), Austin Peay (Nov. 21st), and Brown (Nov. 24th).

Following the home stand, the team will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada for two games in the Las Vegas Invitational.

They will face off against Indiana State in game one of the invitational and either Baylor or Memphis in game two.

Illinois will stay on the road following their Vegas trip as they will play the Miami Hurricanes in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

They will then come back home for a single game to play against American before hitting the road for a pair of games.

The Fighting Illini will travel to two of the most famous basketball stadiums in Madison Square Garden in New York and the United Center in Chicago. The team will first play at MSG against Villanova in the Jimmy V Classic on December 9th, then play the Oregon Ducks at the UC on December 13th.

Illinois will end their non-conference schedule either at home or fairly close to it. The last three games for the Orange & Blue will be against Hamption at home, Missouri in St. Louis for the Braggin’ Rights Game, and Kennesaw State at home.

Although the conference schedule has not been released, the Illinois Fighting Illini know where they will be playing each Big Ten teams this upcoming season.
