The Illinois Fighting Illini continue to work hard on their 2015 recruiting class by targeting some of the best talent from across the country. They did so on Tuesday by playing host to 2015 weak-side defensive end Rahn Bailey.
Bailey currently holds six total offers from Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin, Bowling Green, Navy, Nevada, and Wake Forest.
Per 247Sports, the League City, Texas native is heavily interested in the Kansas Jayhawks and Wisconsin Badgers.
The Badgers seem to be the early favorite to land Rahn Bailey, and all of the experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball predict them to land his commitment.
Derek Piper of Illini247 says that Rahn Bailey “has some very good versatility upfront, with an ability to make plays at the line of scrimmage wherever he lines up.”
One of the highlights from Bailey’s visit to Illinois has to be that he was able to wear Illinois legend Dick Butkus’ college jersey (seen below via Bailey’s instagram).
Illini Nation hopes that Bailey saw enough good things to sway him towards the Orange & Blue. He hopes to one day win the Dick Butkus Award, and there is no better place to win it than in Champaign.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 234th in the state of Texas, 73rd among weak-side defensive ends, and 1,619th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
